Alfa Romeo GTV6 Group A
Biarritz Sports & Classic Cars (BSCC) is pleased to present this Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV6 Group A.
Prepared from the outset in Group A by Dany Snobeck Racing Services, this GTV6 benefited from factory evolutions signed by Autodelta, including a dog-leg gearbox, a limited-slip differential, heavy-duty torsion bars, aluminium wishbones, factory front and rear calipers, as well as a Luigi engine developing around 225 horsepower with a unique sound.
The record of this example is remarkable. In 1984, it won Group A at the Rallye Lyon-Charbonnières, the Rallye du Mont-Blanc and the Tour de France Automobile. It also finished second in Group A at the Tour de Corse, a round of the World Rally Championship. The following year, in 1985, it confirmed its potential with a second place in Group A at the Rallye International des Garrigues and again at the Tour de Corse.
At the end of the 1985 season, the car ceased all competition activity. Preserved strictly in its original condition since then, it is presented today exactly as it was at its last race, with its roll cage, bucket seats, and even the marks left by the special stages. It has never been structurally modified, only carefully maintained to remain in perfect running condition.
This example has not undergone any modifications since it stopped racing in 1985. Everything is original, from the roll cage and the seats to the gravel marks on the fender. It has been kept safe from corrosion, is in perfect working order, and its V6 performs just as it did back in the day.
A restart has been carried out, including an engine overhaul, an overhaul of the injection system, replacement of the fuel tank and fuel pump, and the brake and clutch master cylinders.
Behind the wheel, once the starting procedure is respected, the engine roars and the car trembles. It is a rally car, so do not expect any comfort. At the first turns of the wheels, the sensations match the car itself: brutal and highly efficient.
This example comes with a registration document in the name of Bertrand Balas, along with a set of documents including period photos, press articles, and videos. It is also accompanied by a stock of spare parts.
Once its PTH is renewed, it will be eligible to compete in Historic Group A Rally (VHC Group A J) events. It is also eligible for the Tour Auto.
A piece of history, not to be placed in just any hands.
