Alfa Romeo Spider 1300

Biarritz Sports And Classic Cars (BSCC) is pleased to present this 1969 Alfa Romeo Spider 1300 Junior, part of the first series, nicknamed "Osso di Seppia" due to the distinctive shape of its rear end.

Launched in 1966, the Alfa Romeo Spider was designed by Pininfarina, with bodywork by Aldo Brovarone. The 1300 Junior version, introduced in 1968, aimed to make the Spider more accessible while retaining the dynamic qualities of its predecessors. Only 2,680 units were produced until 1969.

Under the hood, we find the Alfa Romeo Twin Cam engine powered by two Weber carburetors. Paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, this engine delivers a top speed of 170 km/h.

The chassis features independent front suspension and a live axle at the rear, with 267 mm disc brakes on all four wheels. The compact dimensions (4,250 mm long and 990 kg) contribute to the vehicle's agility.

The understated and functional interior features a two-spoke steering wheel, comprehensive instrumentation, and supportive seats. The overall design reflects the minimalist approach of this Junior version. This Junior was restored and improved in 2009 to resemble the 1750 version:
