Jaguar MKII 3.8
Biarritz Sports And Classic Cars (BSCC) is pleased to present this 1960 Jaguar MK2 3.8.
Introduced in 1959, the Jaguar MK2 marked a significant evolution from the MK1, with enlarged window areas, a wider rear track and four-wheel disc brakes.
The 3.8-litre version, of which 30,141 were produced until 1967, was the most powerful car in the range, popular with law enforcement officers and sports car enthusiasts alike.
Under the bonnet was the XK's 3,781cc in-line six-cylinder engine, producing 220bhp at 5,500rpm and 326Nm of torque at 3,000rpm. Mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox, this engine accelerated from 0 to 100 kph in 8.8 seconds, with a top speed of 210 kph.
The interior, true to British tradition, offers a refined ambience with burr walnut panelling and leather seats. The driving position, the easy-to-read instruments and the quality of the materials all bear witness to the care taken in designing this saloon.
This MKII underwent extensive restoration work between 2019 and 2024.
The engine was replaced, the upholstery and woodwork restored, and new wheels fitted and replaced.
A number of upgrades have also been made: GpsX GPS computer, EZPowerSteering power steering, electric sunroof, programmable electronic ignition.
In all, more than €35,000 was invested.
We have a large file of invoices and an expert report.
The paintwork, which is older, looks very good despite some signs of age.
Behind the wheel, you feel like you're in a Jaguar, with leather and wood everywhere. It's comfort and luxury in the English style. Once the engine is started, it's a different story. The sound of the 6-cylinder immediately reminds you of the nobility of this engine and the 220 bhp will enable you to swallow up the kilometres with dynamism.
This Jaguar is a great opportunity for classic car enthusiasts.
