Description

Mercedes G500

Biarritz Sports And Classic Cars (BSCC) presents this Mercedes G500.

The Mercedes G-Class was born in 1979 from a collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and Steyr-Daimler-Puch. Originally designed as a robust utility 4x4 for military and professional use, it gradually evolved
into a versatile civilian model.

This example is equipped with the 5.0 V8 engine and shows 154,500 km. It is finished in silver grey with a black leather interior and wood trim.

It also features the original front bull bar, which is quite a rare element.
The vehicle was first sold in Japan, then imported in 2020 by a German dealership. It was later purchased by its last French owner.
It comes with its original service book and a file of invoices, allowing a clear overview of its history.

Before arriving in Europe, servicing was carried out roughly every 8,000 km.

Since it came to France, many maintenance jobs have been done, most of them at Erviti Bayonne, an independent Mercedes specialist.

The latest maintenance dates from 2025, including an engine oil change, oil filter, new spark plugs, air filter, and also new front and rear brake discs and pads.

Behind the wheel, the G500 offers a high driving position, excellent visibility, and the feel of a true 4x4. The naturally aspirated V8 delivers torque and smooth driving. You feel the weight and body roll, but the overall experience remains pleasant and coherent. Comfortable and rewarding on a daily basis, it still keeps real off-road capabilities.
In the world of modern classics, the G-Class stands out as one of the few models that has preserved its authenticity while becoming a symbol of prestige.
