MG A

Biarritz Sports and Classic Cars (BSCC) is pleased to present this MG A Roadster 1600

The MGA was officially presented at the 1955 Frankfurt Motor Show. Designed by Syd Enever, the MG A's elegant, aerodynamic lines immediately appealed to a good number of customers, mainly in the United States. The promise of being able to reach 100mph in this sporty little roadster was a major factor in its success.

This MG was bought in Scottsdale, Arizona by its last owner. He first enjoyed it for some twenty years, then took it with him before settling on the Basque coast.

Well maintained, the car is in very good condition.
The paintwork looks very good. The carpets, seats and soft top are recent.
The chassis is also very sound.
The wire wheels and tyres are new.
The engine compartment shows that the car has been serviced.
The brakes and master cylinder have just been overhauled.
The side-screens are practically brand new.

The gearbox needs servicing. This will be done before the sale.

The road test was as you'd expect from this little roadster from the late 50s. The engine starts up and purrs away. You immediately feel at ease in a cabin that blends rusticity and elegance.

If, like us, you love the sporty British convertibles of that era, this is definitely the icon of that period.
